It has been good to be back at school.  Most learners have returned ready for the new term and have already launched into a range of activities.

The majority of learners are showing that they are prepared for learning by arriving to school everyday and on time (incidentally we have had great attendance this week), have equipment so they can learn and are wearing the correct uniform.  This is important.  We are preparing learners to take their place in society and we all know this means that there are certain expectations we need to meet.  I look forward to the ongoing support of parents in ensuring their child is prepared for learning.

This is a really important time for Year 11 in particular.  I have sent home a letter outlining all the support for learners.  Keep visiting the study for success area of the website for the latest revision materials.

Information will also be shared with parents next week about the National Literacy and Numeracy Tests.

The week started with a visit from the Ospreys Rugby Team.  The learners were fantastic and as you can see from the shots below really got 'stuck in' to the activities on offer.

Year Nine have been working on some projects.  As part of this they have produced of videos showing life in the trenches.  They are a thoughtful and show the knowledge learners have gained through this project.

We have been starting preparations for the mock election week.  Learners being involved in understanding the democratic process is an important part of their education.  I look forward to reading their manifestos!

Next week we have World Book Night.  Further information to follow ...
