I cannot believe that we have reached the end of another half term.  It seems to be that the academic year is disappearing.

As you will be aware this week marked the end of Year 11’s compulsory education.  They have worked incredibly hard and I hope that they continue to do so to ensure that they achieve the best results they possibly can.  It was great to reflect with them on some of the great times that they have had in the school.

As you may be aware we have started an eCadets group in the school.  This group of learners are responsible for working with staff in the school on ensuring eSafety and the responsible use of ICT in the school.  This is something we are very concerned about and keen to ensure all learners are familiar with.  We had some great news this week in hearing that we have come third in the Senior eCadets Challenge.
Our afterschool programme Engage @ Emrys also continues to go from strength to strength.  We have learners joining in our activities from the local primary schools and this has been great to see.   This week the focus was on the Code@Emrys Club.   We have also started our work on the school production with the Primary Schools.  This makes our production a real community event of which we can all be proud.

Next term we will be focussing on Prepare to Learn as our theme.  This will make sure that all learners make maximum use of the learning on offer in each and every lesson.  This means learners will turn up for school dressed to learn in the right uniform, with the right equipment and with a positive learning attitude.  We will be sharing more about this in the coming weeks.
