24 hours in Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan

As I was writing this blog I was amazed at how many things can be happening in our fantastic school in such a short space of time and so I am just writing about a couple of things that were taking place in a 24 hour period in the school...

A number of learners attended Glyndwr University this week.  They had a great time and were focusing on higher order literacy skills through Creative Writing.  They had  great time and learnt a great deal.

This is  a message we received from the tutor.

Thank you for coming to Glyndwr today with the group of students. They were a delight to work with and showed very impressive skills of reading and comprehension and were excellent listeners and contributors to the discussion.

They really are a credit to the school.

All best, for now,

Dr Deniz Baker,

Programme Leader, BA English and Creative Writing School of Creative Arts

We also had some Year 9 learners who are working on the Year 9 More Able and Talented Literacy Project.  They were carrying out some research in the local community.

Learners spent Friday Night at the Chill Factor in Manchester.  Again the learners were a credit to the school and grateful thanks to the staff for giving up their time to take them.

Learners also took the opportunity to raise some money for charity while they were there!

Thanks to learners on last nights trip raising £43 for MrD's marathon total is £353

Also... don't forget
